In this article, we explore the role of the brain in speech production. We unpack the science of speech and delve into the different regions of the brain, such as Broca’s area and Wernicke’s area, that are involved in vocalization. We also analyze different speech disorders caused by brain damage, the evolutionary development of speech, recent advancements in speech research, and the connection between brain plasticity and speech rehabilitation.
